The plan of work in the Centre is realised in ten directions described in particular work packages. Interrelations among them create the network based on the expertise and great scientific potential of the IPG-PAS staff members as well as a large group of young scientist anxious to enrich the theoretical knowledge and experimental practice.

The characteristic attribute of the PAGEN Centre is its concentric, web-like organization. This structure makes it possible for large number of participants to work in the Centre. All of them are involved in varied forms of activity in different work packages.

The central position in the Project is taken up by WP 1, which is addressed to the large group of young researchers participating in the Ph.D. studies in the IPG-PAS and which will provide a wide scope and up-to-day knowledge in molecular development. The individual work packages WP2-WP8 are conducted by inter-laboratory groups of researchers with expertise in different techniques and topics to ensure interdisciplinary approaches and solutions. The work packages WP9 and WP10 concern the management and promotion of the Centre and dissemination of scientific results and achievements.
